Tom Hoffman will present a talk and PowerPoint presentation on the Whitney Estate, once located on October Mountain, at 7 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 10, in the Berkshire Athenaeum auditorium. Hoffman will tell of the plans Whitney had for his eclectic collection of animals, and what happened to alter his plans. A lifetime resident of Berkshire County, Hoffman grew up hearing stories about the Whitney Estate which inspired him to research, gathering photos and newspaper articles about Whitney's game preserve in the Berkshire Hills.
